DECATHLON CMA CGM is pleased to announce the signing of three riders who will join the team for the 2027 season. Romain Bardet, future sports manager: “To provide them with the right environment to perform at their best”
“It is a true joy to welcome Laurens, Ben, and Pavel. As a contemporary, I can attest to what they represent: complete riders, seasoned in the biggest stage races, and men whose high standards and mindset fully align with the culture the DECATHLON CMA CGM team is working to build. Their arrival adds depth and versatility in the mountains, serving a collective momentum that gains strength year after year. Alongside our young leaders, they form a group capable of reaching new heights. Ben’s return carries a special meaning: it shows that this team knows how to nurture its riders and inspires them to come back. Our role will be to provide them with the right environment to perform at their best and reach new summits, both individually and together.”
Laurens De Plus: “Aim for the biggest victories in cycling”
"I’m really happy to be joining DECATHLON CMA CGM. It’s a team with a rich history and a strong identity, and I’m excited to be part of this project and contribute to its ambitions.
My goals are clear: to bring my experience to the team, support my teammates in the best possible way, and together aim for the biggest victories in cycling, including winning a Grand Tour. I also want to share my experience with the younger riders, help them develop, and guide them in achieving their goals. I believe I can bring a lot to the team, both on and off the bike."
Ben O’Connor: “My greatest achievements so far came during my time with DECATHLON CMA CGM”
“My greatest achievements so far came during my time with DECATHLON CMA CGM, so having the opportunity to return to a environment where I've tasted success is incredibly exciting. Over the last two years, the team has shown a real commitment to evolving and innovating in pursuit of peak performance. I can’t wait to get started and write the next chapter of this story together.”
Pavel Sivakov: “I felt that the team could offer me the ideal environment to keep progressing”
"I’m really looking forward to joining the team! The project and the ambitions shown immediately won me over. You can see that every year, DECATHLON CMA CGM moves forward and evolves to get closer to the best teams in the world peloton. I want to be part of this rise and contribute to it, hoping to see the group continue to grow and reach the top. I join this project convinced that I can bring my experience and expertise gained over several years alongside some of the best riders in the world. I felt that the team could offer me the ideal environment to keep progressing, both as a rider and as a person. It’s also the first time in my career that I’ll be racing for a French team, which makes this new adventure even more special to me."
